Virginia Trance, aka former Psychic Ills man Scott Ryan Davis and (in this instance at least) his former band mates Chris Millstein and Jimi Seitang, have a new single ‘Sway’ out on April 7th via BYM Records.
Much influenced by jangly indie pop such as Real Estate, Felt and the like, possibly the biggest influence comes from iconic New Zealand independent Flying Nun. The track, a tribute to Lou Reed, is this warm ride into the indie sunset, all chiming guitars and bubbling bass, driven or at least pushed in the right direction by these minimal drums. Hell of a tune though
