Okey dokey, Adrian Sherwood is back with the follow up to the first Sherwood at the controls this time hitting from ’85 to ’90. Electro, Industrial, Noise, Hip-Hop, Afrobeat and Dub. This time up we get five unreleased tracks plus four tracks previously only available on vinyl, sleeve notes and the usual goodies, so lets have a stroll through……

Now if you picked this up on a whim the intro track may raise some eyebrows, an Industrial Electro opener that has a punk edge due to it’s vocal delivery, but if you love a bit of odd it’s the key to the door that opens a gem filled album. Crossing over many territories of music we go from sample filled electro breaks like ‘Tackhead’ to the dub Tribal flavours of ‘Masimbabele 89’. SATC 2 takes you on a musical trip with some quality 80’s flavoured electro style beats and a touch of early Hip Hop throughout the first half, slipping us into some fine dub action to finish off the second.  It’s no surprise Mr Sherwood is well respected for his work in dub as his production shines on two of my personal favourites from this release  ‘Dub Syndicate – Snatch A Style’ and ‘Bim Sherman – Haunting Ground Dub’, dubbed out bliss.

The Vaults of On-U Sound have been once again been opened and we get another chance to experience Adrian Sherwood as he adds his unique flavour to each cut. Another one of those collections which will have you tracking down each release and exploring back catalogues of work from all those involved. An education.
