HellCity have been kicking it old skool since 2004, when they formed in Beijing, China. Another of those Asian bands that have taken their influences from the 2nd wave of British Punk, taken heir cues from The Exploited, Discharge and in HellCity’s case, Blitz. Leather, studs and mohawks and plenty of melody mixed in. Most of their recorded output is hard to find as they were limited editions, in one case just 66 copies of their 2nd album Live In “TTD VIII” Fest, exist on cassette, so good luck finding that one!
Definitely not fans of the ruling regime in China if the lyrics of Voice Of China ae anything to go by, which opens with; “Bastard system,
Bastard leader,
Kill, Kill.”
Far more dangerous than anything the Sex Pistols ever penned, Anarchy included!
