Exclusive: Canadian singer-songwriter Jordan Klassen records ‘Golden Ladder’ live in session for Backseat Mafia

Tell Me What To Do, Canadian singer-songwriter Jordan Klassen’s 2020 album caused something of a stir with its inclusive beauty and organic growth. It turned into a record that affected all that heard it. So we were delighted that Jordan agreed to record the closing track from the record – Golden Ladder for one of our At Home Sessions here at Backseat Mafia.

Of the track, Jordan says “Golden Ladder is a reflection on the lives of a woman and her mother, as they heal in the face of intergenerational trauma [and] what happens when the role of the caretaker is reversed with time… Some of these moments are inspired by my own family’s journey with healing, trauma and immigration…

The lullaby-esque track is presented with a softness and vulnerability that is illuminated by the soft piano accompaniment.

Check it out here, and PLEASE subscribe, like, comment and share, so we can continue to bring you the best of upcoming and established talent in session.
