Live Review: Pull Down The Sun / Fall Of Them / Claemus – Stellar Bar, Whanganui, NZ 19.11.2021


Whanganui’s Stellar Bar went off on Friday night when local lads Pull Down the Sun hosted an ‘End Of Spring Fling’ gig. Joined by Christchurch metal band Fall Of Them and Wellington’s prog rockers Claemus it was an outstanding night of NZ rock music, and the appreciative crowd lapped it up.

To kick the night off 2 members of Fall Of Them joined 2 members of Pull Down the Sun to create a wicked covers band ‘Descend the Mountain’, smashing out a few favourites to get the crowd pumping. Fall Of Them hit the stage with a mighty thump showing Whanganui what they are made of with their unique metal sound and energetic band members.

Up next was the melodic rock sounds of Claemus showcasing songs from their new album ‘Daydream’.

Pull Down the Sun finished off the night to an always excited crowd of fans in their hometown, playing all the favourites off their album ‘Of Valleys and Mountains’ which was released last year. Their progressive, atmospheric and groove heavy sound always has people up and moving. An outstanding night with outstanding New Zealand music.
