Track: Cope – Seasons Ending

London punk quartet have heralded the arrival of their forthcoming EP with the release of their new single ‘Seasons Ending’. The newcomers have already appeared at Camden Rocks and played their first ever show at the much missed Camden Barfly, and their name has a double meaning past the obvious, that being ‘Challenge Oppression Pursue Equality, which is also the title of their EP “THAT is the message we want people to take away!” explains guitarist and backing vocalist Josh Bowles, when talking about their forthcoming debut. “If you like punk and you’re pissed off with the way the world is and want to vent some energy, whilst singing along to a catchy tune, then listen to us. We’re the voice of this generation and we’ve been quiet for way too long!”

It bursts into action, built initially on these wiry guitar figures, but soon displaced by huge chords and driving drums, with those same guitar lines then reappearing as accompaniment. It’s angry, gutteral, muscular punk with a melodic edge, built over these shouted, barked vocals. Impressive stuff.
