Track: Gold Panda reveals John Roberts remix of Chiba Nights

If you enjoyed Good Luck and Do your best, Gold Panda’s recent album, as much as we did on its release earlier in the year from City Slang, then he’s just revealed an extra little treat in the shape of a remix of the standout track Chiba Nights, reworked by US producer John Roberts.

“I’m a big fan of John Roberts’ work” says Gold Panda, aka Derwin “…I have nearly all of his releases so I was very flattered to hear he liked GLADYB and agreed to do a remix. The remix uses a similar sound palette to his new album “Plum” which was just released on his own label Brunette Editions and I highly recommend. It was nice to chat to him and find out that we share a fondness for Japan and the Akai MPC2000.”

Roberts keeps much of the oriental flavour of the original, spicing it up with some more chunky and edgy sounding synths and adding a little more drive and splashy bass. Check it out, here

He’s got extensive tour dates for the rest of the year, with only (so far) one in the UK, at Colchester Arts Centre on October 29th. Check the full schedule out, here
