I can’t tell you a lot about East London producer Grigori, except, well that’s pretty much it. He’s a producer and he’s from (or at least based in) East London.
What I can tell you though is he had a debut ep out called Sinas, and this track, Immune, took place after the sessions had ended, and its available for download over on his Soundcloud page. It opens with this stripped down drum pattern, and these jangly, nodding towards portishead guitars, although it settles into something more stripped back, more James Blake goes funk. Vocally though, Grigori has this engaging roughness to his voice, and i has these lovely backing vocals draped all over them, as he sails up into his falsetto voice.
Apparently, Grigori has live dates with a full band planned for 2014. So that’s one more thing I know, that we need to keep our eyes open for those, and find out more about Grigori. I have this feeling it’ll be well worth it.
