Sydney-based Yen Strange has released a new single ‘If Snakes Can Afford Fast Cars I Wanna Be A Snake Too’ out via Liberation Records.

Strange produced ‘If Snakes Can Afford Fast Cars I Wanna Be A Snake Too’ with additional production and mixing supplied by US producer Chris Zane (Passion Pit, VERITE, St Lucia.) ‘If Snakes Can Afford Fast Cars I Wanna Be A Snake Too’ sheds light on toxic relationships and nostalgia.

“I kinda realised how much jealousy I had for my exes and I guess they were jealous of me too. The whole idea that you become the people around you is cool and I’m not fighting it. I love the good and bad parts of my friends and exes.”

Despite the rather heavy subject material, ‘If Snakes Can Afford Fast Cars I Wanna Be A Snake Too’ is an upbeat banger that continues to build on Strange’s growing reputation.

The new track is accompanied by a video that Strange directed. It features her trademark grunge aesthetic, combining up-close and personal montages with vlog style footage from her travels to the United States.

“The video was so natural to make. The concept worked so well for me and it was a good time getting to be an angry girly in the hotel. The contrast of peachy and dangerous vibes is serving Kmart Harley Quinn.”
