With just over nine weeks until Bloodstock Open Air it was time to throw the spotlight on some of the ‘Core’ bands which will be pounding us over the weekend. Bloodstock has long been regarded as the UK’s spiritual home of heavy music, but the 2026 lineup proves the festival continues to evolve alongside the scene itself. While legends of classic metal still dominate the upper reaches of the bill, this year’s festival also delivers a stacked selection of deathcore, metalcore and hardcore bands ready to bring chaos to Catton Park.

From the crushing brutality of Slaughter To Prevail and Fit For An Autopsy, to the anthemic power of Bleed From Within and the hardcore fury of Biohazard and Stampin’ Ground, Bloodstock 2026 offers something for every fan of modern heavy music. Whether you’re hunting relentless breakdowns, emotional metalcore hooks or old-school pit energy, these are the bands set to make a massive impact across the weekend.

DEATHCORE

Fit For An Autopsy

Few modern extreme metal bands balance atmosphere, brutality and social commentary quite like Fit For An Autopsy. The New Jersey outfit arrive at Bloodstock riding the momentum of becoming one of deathcore’s most respected names, blending crushing breakdowns with cinematic melodies and apocalyptic weight. Expect huge crowd reactions for tracks like Far From Heaven and Two Towers, with their live set likely to be one of the weekend’s most emotionally intense performances. For fans who like their heaviness layered with depth and precision, this is essential viewing.

Bound In Fear

If sheer heaviness is what you’re after, Bound In Fear are here to flatten Catton Park. The UK downtempo deathcore unit specialise in grotesquely low riffs, suffocating atmosphere and breakdowns that feel engineered to cause structural damage. Their live reputation has grown massively in recent years, and Bloodstock crowds are the perfect environment for their oppressive sound. Expect violence in the pit, thunderous low end and one of the most punishing sets of the festival.

Slaughter To Prevail

Already one of the biggest names in modern deathcore, Slaughter To Prevail bring pure chaos wherever they go. Frontman Alex Terrible has become an iconic figure in extreme metal thanks to his monstrous vocals and intimidating stage presence, while the band’s groove-heavy assault has helped push deathcore into bigger arenas and festival stages worldwide. Bloodstock has always embraced brutality, but few bands on the 2026 bill are likely to generate scenes quite as feral as Slaughter To Prevail. Expect walls of death, endless crowd surfers and utter carnage from the first note.

METALCORE

Bleed From Within

Bleed From Within continue to prove why they are one of the UK’s best live metal bands. Combining groove metal power with modern metalcore precision, the Scottish outfit have spent the last few years elevating themselves from cult favourites to genuine festival heavyweights. Their performances are relentless, razor-tight and packed with massive hooks that translate perfectly to open-air stages. With tracks like The End Of All We Know and Levitate built for huge crowds, expect one of the biggest singalongs and circle pits of the weekend.

Northlane

Northlane bring a more futuristic edge to the Bloodstock lineup, fusing progressive metalcore with electronics, atmosphere and djent-inspired heaviness. The Australian band have evolved dramatically over the years, becoming one of the most adventurous acts in modern heavy music. Their live show is immersive and emotionally charged, shifting between ambient textures and crushing riffs with ease. For fans looking for something cerebral as well as heavy, Northlane’s set could be one of the festival’s hidden highlights.

Of Mice & Men

Metalcore veterans Of Mice & Men arrive at Bloodstock with a catalogue full of emotional anthems and crushing modern heaviness. One of the defining bands of the 2010s metalcore boom, they remain a major draw thanks to their ability to balance melody with aggression. Their live performances are packed with energy and audience interaction, making them a natural fit for a festival crowd. Expect massive reactions for classics alongside newer material that leans into a darker, heavier sound.

Vended

Vended might still be one of the newer names on the lineup, but their rise has been rapid. Blending metalcore, nu-metal and modern extreme influences, the band channel raw aggression and youthful intensity into every performance. Their chaotic stage presence and relentless energy have already earned them major festival slots around the world, and Bloodstock should suit them perfectly. Whether you know them already or not, expect a set designed to leave an impression.

HARDCORE

Biohazard

Hardcore legends Biohazard bring old-school New York attitude to Bloodstock 2026. Fusing hardcore, metal and streetwise groove, the band helped define crossover heavy music in the 1990s and remain hugely influential today. Their sets are pure energy, driven by gang vocals, stomping riffs and an unmistakable urban edge. With classics like Punishment and Urban Discipline in their arsenal, Biohazard are guaranteed to deliver one of the weekend’s most nostalgic and explosive performances.

Stampin’ Ground

A true UK hardcore institution, Stampin’ Ground’s return to Bloodstock is set to be emotional for longtime fans of the scene. Known for their ferocious blend of hardcore, metalcore and thrash, the band were instrumental in shaping British heavy music in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their sound remains vicious, urgent and uncompromising, and their influence can still be heard across modern heavy bands today. Expect intensity from start to finish and a crowd full of old-school hardcore energy.

Dosed

Representing the newer wave of UK hardcore, Dosed bring raw aggression and contemporary heaviness to the Bloodstock lineup. Their sound mixes crushing riffs with hardcore urgency and emotionally charged delivery, making them one of the underground acts worth discovering across the weekend. Smaller-stage hardcore sets often become some of the festival’s most memorable moments, and Dosed have all the ingredients to turn theirs into absolute chaos.
