News: Brighton’s Comforts Return With New Single ‘Your Silhouette’

Brighton-based quartet Comforts have returned with their latest single, ‘Your Silhouette,’ a moody yet vibrant track that continues to cement their reputation as one of the UK’s most promising indie-rock outfits. The new release showcases the band’s ability to blend cathartic, emotive songwriting with energetic and precise musicianship, capturing the attention of both fans and industry tastemakers alike.

With nearly 200,000 streams under their belt, Comforts have been steadily building momentum through extensive touring across the UK, captivating performances at major festivals, and growing support from Radio X. Their rise has been marked by a series of electrifying live shows, including standout sets at Isle of Wight, The Great Escape, and Truck Festival, as well as being tipped by This Feeling’s ‘Big in 2023’ campaign, a nod that has previously helped launch the careers of breakout acts like Catfish & the Bottlemen and Blossoms.

‘Your Silhouette’ is a testament to the band’s evolving sound. The track opens with tight, fuzzy guitar tones that build through math-rock-inspired riffs into a swelling, melodic indie soundscape. Massive drums and grounding bass provide a solid foundation as the song bursts into an anthemic chorus, showcasing the band’s alt-rock influences. The infectious lead vocal weaves through the mix, delivering a hook that lingers long after the final note fades.

In discussing the inspiration behind ‘Your Silhouette,’ Comforts explain, “The song tells a story of personal endeavors, resilience, and acceptance. It’s about overcoming obstacles, working toward your goals, and silencing the little voice inside your head that can bring you down. Ultimately, it’s about picking yourself up, dusting yourself off, and coming back stronger, without letting anyone get in your way.”

Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists, including Radiohead, Sam Fender, Blossoms, and Catfish & the Bottlemen, Comforts have honed a sound that combines the raw energy of indie rock with the polished production of modern pop. Their ability to craft songs that resonate both emotionally and sonically has earned them a dedicated following and critical acclaim.

As Comforts continue to carve out their path in the indie music scene, ‘Your Silhouette’ stands as a bold statement of their growth and artistic ambition.
