News: Dom Quincey Returns With ‘It’s Not The End…’

After more than a year away from the spotlight, Dom Quincey makes a poignant return with his latest single, ‘It’s Not The End…’, an alternative indie guitar-pop ballad tinged with folk undertones. Written in the wake of the loss of his closest friend, the track channels grief into an emotionally rich exploration of hope, longing, and resilience.

Coupling angelic alt-pop melodies with ethereal indie soundscapes, ‘It’s Not The End…’ unfolds as a tender duel between sorrow and optimism. Delicate strings and rich acoustic textures weave throughout the song, each note brimming with emotion and highlighting Dom’s lyrical sensitivity and musical maturity. The single traces the questions and “what ifs” that accompany loss, navigating the fragile line between heartache and acceptance.

“The song explores grief through a lens of hope, searching for signs that a lost loved one is still communicating with us from somewhere else,” Dom explains.

The track captures the artist’s raw, authentic voice, presenting an unflinching look at pain and the human instinct to push through life’s challenges. It’s a song that refuses to shy away from vulnerability, instead turning it into something luminous and relatable.

Speaking on the creation of the single, Dom recalls, “I wrote It’s Not The End… in my first session with Evil Genius, and it came together mostly in one go, with entire sections of lyrics and melodies intact. It was the first time I had returned to the studio after the sudden loss of my oldest and closest friend, and I was in a very fragile emotional state. Luc and Russ gave me all the space I needed, allowing the song to channel through me. It truly felt like a special moment of creative intervention from a source outside of myself.”

The recording process was just as heartfelt. “We recorded the vocal in one take and ended up using most of it on the final track. I recorded the strings with Jed Bevington, who elevated the song to new heights, capturing so much of the emotion with his arrangement. The single marked the start of ongoing collaborations and a new chapter in my musical journey,” Dom shares.

With It’s Not The End…, Dom Quincey demonstrates that his return is not merely a comeback—it’s a reassertion of his place as a emotionally attuned and creative artist.
