News: GANGgajang set to headline Nimbin Roots Festival in October 2024

In an era when festivals have been faltering, the Nimbin Roots Festival returns for its’ ninth year, running from October 25th through to October 27th.

Along with headliner, GANGgajang, artists as diverse as Dog Trumpet, Pierce Brothers, Hussy Hicks, Rod McCormack and Melody Pool will make appearances, along with many others

Festival founder, and alt-country artist Lou Bradley said “In light of the current situation in the music industry where the festival giants are cancelling, we believe there’s no better time to stick to our ethos and keep on offering a small, quality and unique music festival for people to be able to afford to come for a few days and visit the beautiful Byron Bay hinterland and have an experience like no other.”

This year’s Nimbin Roots Festival poster has been designed by renowned artist and Dog Trumpet member, Reg Mombassa, known for his distinctive work at Mambo, for whom he has created designs since 1986, and as a founding member of Aussie legends, Mental As Anything. Known for his distinctive and evocative style, Reg brings a touch of his iconic, quirky artwork to the festival, capturing the essence of Nimbin’s unique cultural spirit. His design embodies the festival’s ethos and enhances the visual appeal, drawing festival-goers into the heart of Nimbin’s artistic community.

Nimbin Roots Festival is not just about music – it’s a cultural experience. Alongside the musical performances, attendees can enjoy vibrant markets, engaging workshops, and street performers, enriching their festival experience.
