South London neo-soul artist Greentea Peng will return to Australia and New Zealand this November, announcing a run of headline shows that coincide with her appearance at Strawberry Fields Festival.
The tour will see Peng perform in Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, bringing her immersive blend of neo-soul, dub, hip-hop and psychedelic R&B back to local audiences. Since emerging with her 2018 EP Sensi, she has cultivated a sound that resists easy categorisation, built around spacious production, smoky grooves and introspective songwriting that has become her signature.
Born Aria Wells in South London, Greentea Peng found renewed creative direction while travelling through Mexico, where performing with a local band rekindled her relationship with music. Returning to London, she channelled that experience into Sensi, introducing a style that balanced dub-inspired rhythms, jazz flourishes and understated electronics beneath her unmistakable vocal delivery.
That momentum accelerated through standout performances including ‘Downers’ for COLORS, which amassed millions of views, and a memorable appearance on Later… with Jools Holland, before culminating in her acclaimed 2021 debut album, MAN MADE. Designed, in Peng’s words, to speak “more in your heart space, and less in your headspace”, the record cemented her reputation as one of Britain’s most distinctive contemporary voices.
Her latest album, TELL DEM IT’S SUNNY, continues that inward-looking journey. Rather than chasing obvious hooks, the record embraces atmosphere and emotional nuance, exploring self-acceptance, healing and personal growth through textured production and quietly powerful songwriting. It is another reminder that Peng’s greatest strength lies in creating music that invites listeners inward rather than demanding their attention.
