Jonah Marais is heading back to Australia this November, and he won’t be coming alone. The singer-songwriter has announced The Dreamer Tour, which will see fellow Why Don’t We founding members Jack Avery and Zach Herron join him on stage for the trio’s first Australian performances together since 2019.
The run also marks the first time Marais, Avery and Herron have shared a stage since Why Don’t We’s 2022 performance in New York City, making the tour a significant reunion for fans eager to hear the group’s catalogue performed live once again.
Marais first found international success as one-fifth of Why Don’t We, a group that amassed more than 3.1 billion streams, hundreds of millions of YouTube views and a devoted global following through polished pop anthems and relentless touring. Since stepping out as a solo artist, he has broadened his musical identity, releasing more introspective material that places greater emphasis on songwriting while retaining the melodic instincts that first made him a global star.
While The Dreamer Tour will spotlight Marais’ solo work, nostalgia is set to play an equally important role. Fans can expect performances of Why Don’t We favourites including ‘8 Letters’, ‘What Am I’, ‘Fallin”, ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’, ‘Trust Fund Baby’ and ‘Hooked’, with Avery and Herron helping bring the songs back to the stage for the first time in years.
The reunion also promises more than a retrospective celebration.
