Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Judith Hill will bring her blend of soul, funk and gospel to Australia in May 2026, performing headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and the Gold Coast, with an appearance at Blues on Broadbeach. The tour marks the live debut of her new album Letters from a Black Widow, a work that reflects on loss, legacy and artistic renewal.

Raised in a musical family in Los Angeles, Hill continues to perform alongside her parents — bassist Robert “Peewee” Hill and keyboardist Michiko Hill — whose presence is central to the sound of the new record. Hill wrote, arranged and largely performed the album herself, teaching herself electric guitar to expand its tonal character.

Where 2021’s Baby, I’m Hollywood! explored identity and self-discovery, Letters from a Black Widow confronts a more difficult chapter of Hill’s life. The title reclaims a label once directed at her in the aftermath of losing two of her mentors, Michael Jackson and Prince. The album examines grief and resilience with clarity, placing Hill’s musicianship and writing at the forefront.

“Flame,” the album’s feature single, has been highlighted by Rolling Stone, V Magazine and Entertainment Tonight for its strong vocal performance and focused production. Another key track, “Dame de la Lumière,” premiered during Women’s History Month as a tribute to the women in Hill’s family, emphasising continuity, support and strength.

Hill’s touring band, led by her long-time collaborators and family members, will bring the album to life across a seven-date run. The shows promise an evening centred on musicianship and narrative depth, reflecting Hill’s evolution as an artist since her early work with Michael Jackson, Prince and Stevie Wonder. Her career continues to expand following her Grammy win for 20 Feet from Stardom, where her story and voice reached a global audience.
