Los Angeles darkwave outfit DECEITS will make their long-awaited Australian debut this December, bringing their emotionally charged brand of post-punk to Sydney and Melbourne for two exclusive headline performances.
Emerging from the city’s flourishing underground scene, the trio have steadily built an international following thanks to a sound that balances melancholic atmospheres with anthemic hooks and an intensity that owes as much to romance as it does to post-punk tradition. Consisting of Kevin “Puppy” Moreno, Skylar Francise and Francisco Saenz, DECEITS draw influence from acts including The Cure, New Order, Bauhaus, The Chameleons, Motorama and Human Tetris while carving out a distinct identity of their own.
Formed in 2021, the band quickly gained momentum through a series of independent singles before releasing their debut album If There’s No Heaven… in 2023. Featuring fan favourites including ‘Drowning In An Empty Sea’ and ‘Mi Amor, Mi Vampira’, the record helped elevate DECEITS beyond the Los Angeles underground and onto larger stages, including a headline appearance at the historic El Rey Theatre.
Since then, the trio have shared bills with genre stalwarts such as The Chameleons and Diva Destruction and added a coveted appearance at 2025’s Cruel World Festival to their growing résumé.
Their first Australian dates arrive with a reputation for immersive performances that combine darkwave textures, danceable rhythms and an emotional immediacy that has resonated with fans around the world. For followers of contemporary post-punk and goth music, the December shows offer a rare opportunity to catch DECEITS in an intimate setting.
