Medium Build is heading back to Australia in January 2027, bringing the ‘King of Having Fun on Tour’ to Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
The project of singer-songwriter Nick Carpenter, Medium Build became a familiar face in Australia during 2025, first playing headline shows and supporting Role Model before returning later in the year with Alex Warren. This time he arrives with sixth album ‘King of Having Fun’, the follow-up to 2024’s ‘Country’.
The new record finds Carpenter moving beyond the bedroom-built approach of his earlier work. Recorded live with friends and collaborators, it pushes his mix of indie, country and lo-fi songwriting towards a bigger rock sound while tackling recovery, sobriety and the strange business of learning how to enjoy life again.
The Australian run opens at Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on January 18, followed by Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on January 19 and Brisbane’s The Triffid on January 22. Medium Build wraps things up at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on January 23.
