News: Midnight Ambulance share anxious second single ‘5 AM’

Formed in the early days of the March 2020 lockdown as an online collaborative project, it took until their first gig for Fraser and Amelia – otherwise known as Midnight Ambulance – to decide on that name and give their new venture a serious go. In February, they released debut single ‘Black Gloves’, and shared its follow-up ‘5 AM’ last month; a song which, in Amelia’s words, ‘describes how lockdown life acted as a skewed mirror to the past, casting up old memories, both good and bad.’

It’s a majestic slow-burner of a song, navigating its way through two fraught verse-and-chorus sections before a bridge transition explodes into a riff-driven climax with some serious heft, in a way our description can only do so much to capture; a real ‘where the hell did that come from?!?’ sort of moment. Give it a listen and hear it for yourself below, and keep an eye out for more from the duo soon – their original online link-up led to 70 songs being written, so we can’t imagine we’ll be waiting too long for their next move.
