After more than ten years away, The Waterboys will make their long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand in May 2026, performing music that spans their four-decade career — from The Whole of the Moon to their upcoming album Life, Death and Dennis Hopper.

Led by founding member Mike Scott, the 2025 incarnation of the band features double keyboardists Brother Paul(Memphis) and James Hallawell (Cornwall), anchored by Irish rhythm section Aongus Ralston (bass) and Eamon Ferris (drums). The Waterboys’ new material is a bold cinematic tribute to American icon Dennis Hopper, and their live shows promise to bridge eras — mixing The Big Music sound of the early ’80s with the folk-driven intimacy of Fisherman’s Blues and their post-2015 resurgence.

“The Waterboys live for the experience of playing, of feeling our music evolve and grow with each concert. Nothing makes us happier than seeing a long list of dates like these. Australia and New Zealand — come and join us!” Mike Scott

Since forming in 1983, The Waterboys have been one of the UK’s most dynamic and eclectic acts. Their sound — a mix of rock, Celtic soul, folk, and mysticism — has influenced everyone from U2 to Big Country. Scott’s vision of “The Big Music” remains a defining force in modern rock, capturing both the spiritual and the raw.

This 2026 tour marks a new chapter for the band that continues to chase transcendence through sound.
