Nashville-based indie-pop-rock artist Abby Nissenbaum is back in the spotlight with her latest musical creation, ‘Limerence,’ a captivating blend of alternative and electronic-pop. Following the release of her eclectic and explosive debut album ‘Unreliable Narrator,’ Nissenbaum is once again poised to take the music scene by storm with her signature sound and heartfelt lyricism.

Crafted in collaboration with renowned producer Steph Trivison, ‘Limerence’ is a sonic masterpiece that draws inspiration from the punchy beats of the 80s, intertwining them with a symphony of synths and biting guitar tones. This musical fusion strikes a perfect balance between lo-fi electronics and indie-rock guitar riffs, all brought together by Nissenbaum’s understated yet enchanting vocals, showcasing her exploration of the poppier side of her evolving repertoire.

In discussing the creation of ‘Limerence,’ Abby Nissenbaum shared, “‘Limerence’ is a collaboration between myself and pop producer Steph Trivison. We aimed to create a modern indie pop sound with throwback elements to queer synthpop bands of the early aughts, like Uh Huh Her. I actually wrote the song on the bass, and Steph sampled the bass line from my demo in the final song, which you can hear as the lead-in instrumental. She built some really cool, bright synth sounds around it, and we added in some ghostlike operatic background vocals for an eerie, almost deranged feel to the song.”

Nissenbaum’s journey to musical acclaim is as unique as her sound. A lifelong musician, classically-trained soprano, and former musical theatre performer, she initially pursued a career in social psychology and data analytics. It was during her time as a graduate student at the University of Memphis that she rediscovered her musical roots, setting her on a path to stardom. Her music has received international recognition, gracing the pages of outlets such as Wonderland, Earmilk, Notion, Clash, Psychedelic Baby Mag, and She Makes Music, among others.

What sets Abby Nissenbaum apart is her emotive, bright vocal performances, which pay homage to the iconic female rock singers of the 60s. These powerful vocals seamlessly merge with contemporary indie-alt rock elements, resulting in a unique and compelling sound that has earned her the acclaim she deserves.

With ‘Limerence’ hitting the airwaves on September 22nd, Abby Nissenbaum continues to solidify her position as a rising star in the LGBTQ+ indie-rock scene, leaving fans and music enthusiasts eagerly awaiting her next move.
