News: Picture This Announce 2026 Australian Return After Selling 100,000 Irish Tickets in One Year

A decade ago, a 20-year-old Ryan Hennessy filmed himself singing a song called ‘Take My Hand’ on his iPhone in the small Irish town of Athy. That shaky video went viral — four million views later, it launched one of the biggest musical success stories Ireland has ever seen. From that bedroom upload to selling out five consecutive nights at Dublin’s 3Arena, Picture This have turned raw ambition into national heroism.

Since that debut post, the quartet — Hennessy, drummer Jimmy Rainsford, guitarist Owen Cardiff and bassist Cliff Deane — have levelled up from their first gig at Dublin’s Grand Social (which sold out in under half an hour) to conquering arenas across Ireland. Their Home For Summer 2025 tour shifted over 45,000 tickets, and when Home For Christmas went on sale, another 50,000 disappeared in less than an hour. In total, that’s nearly 100,000 fans singing every word back at them — a stat even global heavyweights would envy.

But it’s not just about numbers. Picture This have built something rare: a real bond with the Irish public. From Belfast to Cork, they’ve soundtracked weddings, road trips and heartbreaks with a mix of anthemic sincerity and small-town storytelling. Their success is grassroots, grown from viral beginnings into an empire of choruses.

Now, ten years after that iPhone video changed everything, Picture This are ready to go global again. With their electric live show honed in arenas and open fields, the band are gearing up to bring that same Irish fervour to Australia in 2026 — a country that thrives on authenticity, heart, and a bit of chaos. Expect singalongs, sweat, and the unmistakable feeling of witnessing a band at the peak of their powers.
