News: Senior Dunce Shares New Single ‘Romantic LLM’ Featuring DORA

Senior Dunce releases the new single ‘Romantic LLM’ featuring vocalist DORA.

A shimmering, synth-driven journey into love, longing, and artificial intelligence, the single weaves glossy 80s-inspired textures with irresistible pop hooks to create a track which is both dance floor ready and commercially infectious. Reminiscent of Daft Punk with its use of robotic vocal re-sampling, the track is brilliant constructed and captures a euphoric upbeat flare. At its core, ‘Romantic LLM’ meditates on the future of human intimacy in a world increasingly filtered through algorithms, asking whether love itself can withstand the pull of machine logic.

The acronym LLM stands for Large Language Model, the same technology behind tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini. But for Senior Dunce, it transforms into something far more poetic and unsettling—a symbol for the outsourcing of our deepest emotions. Where others see software, he frames a strange inevitability: a society where our most universal desire becomes entangled with, and perhaps surrendered to, artificial intelligence.

Much like the rest of his work, ‘Romantic LLM’ blurs the line between irony and sincerity. The track’s protagonist, the eternally awkward “Dunce” persona, doesn’t so much fall in love with an AI as simply accept it as destiny. This resignation is set against a backdrop of luminous synths and propulsive rhythms, a bittersweet blend that captures both the futuristic melancholy of Blade Runner and the intimate yearning of Her.

Central to the track’s emotional weight is DORA, the South Korean R&B and soul vocalist who debuted with ‘Bloom’ in 2019. Her voice lends warmth and vulnerability to the synthetic soundscape, grounding the narrative in lived emotion. Against Senior Dunce’s crystalline production, DORA’s delivery becomes the track’s human anchor, embodying the tension between digital fantasy and real-world longing.

For Senior Dunce, a producer, sound designer, and educator with more than two decades of experience, ‘Romantic LLM’ continues a career defined by challenging conventions. A bittersweet anthem that shines with neon melancholy while probing the uneasy intersection of love and technology, the single is both critique and celebration, a soundtrack for a future where even the most human of feelings carries a digital echo.
