Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment Theory attracted our attention earlier this year with the release of their self-titled debut album (see our review here). It represented a whole new journey for Van Etten, collaborating with a band of musicians closely for the first time, and was a triumph. I wrote:
Van Etten’s indelible songwriting craft is enhanced by her band, adding nuanced and delicate layers, while her velvet vocals and intimate lyrics remain powerful and unique.
The band today announced it is embarking on an Australian tour later this year through Mistletone, supported by the tremendous Cash Savage (a scintillating performer in her own right). Live, Van Etten has always been a stunning and mesmerising performer and her set promises to present her solo stuff as well as material from the new album.
The Attachment Theory is Van Etten, Jorge Balbi on drums, bassist Devra Hoff and Teeny Lieberson on keys/vocals.
