News: Sofia Gobbi Shines On New Single ‘idk’

Sofia Gobbi returns with the new single ‘idk’. The London-based alt-pop singer-songwriter has enjoyed frequent support from BBC Radio 1 and backing from an impressive 36 Spotify editorial playlists, establishing her as an exciting up and coming talent.

Blending indie-rock energy with vibrant pop sensibilities, ‘idk’ is a high-energy anthem driven by guitars and memorable hooks. Tight guitar work, punching electronic drums and evocative melodies, the track captures both a radiant accessibility and a sharp guitar led edge. The song explores the fleeting nature of love, likening the adrenaline and fear of a relationship ending to the experience of being a criminal on the verge of getting caught.

Speaking about the track, Gobbi explains: “This song came from that feeling of being scared when something good happens, when part of you can’t help but wonder how long it will last before it’s taken away. I kept returning to the parallels between falling in love and being a criminal – the nerves, the sweaty palms, the knot in your stomach, and that lingering fear that what you’ve gotten away with might be stripped from you. Writing it was my way of working through the fear of self-sabotage, outside opinions, and the fragility of happiness. At its core, though, the song is about celebrating that even if a relationship ends, you still ‘got away’ with that person for a time—and that’s a beautiful win no one can ever take from you.”

Since her debut in 2022, Gobbi has earned recognition for her sharp-witted, anthemic songwriting, receiving support across tastemaker press and national radio. Her single ‘That Ass!’ became a viral hit, amassing more than 150,000 streams.

Now building towards her debut album Bigger Man, set for release on 16 January 2026, the new single is a fine addition to Sofia Gobbi’s growing catalogue.
