Everclear will return to Australia later this year to mark three decades of Sparkle and Fade.

The 16-date run begins in Newcastle on November 21 and will take in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Townsville, Duncraig and other regional centres before concluding in Adelaide on December 13.

Released in 1995, Sparkle and Fade was the band’s first major-label album and introduced Everclear to a global audience through songs such as “Santa Monica,” “Heroin Girl,” and “Heartspark Dollarsign.” The record has since been credited with helping define the alternative rock landscape of the mid-90s.

Since forming in Portland in 1992, frontman Art Alexakis and Everclear have released 11 studio albums, sold more than six million records, and earned 12 Top 40 hits across alternative and mainstream radio with songs including “Father of Mine,” “I Will Buy You A New Life,” “Wonderful,” and “Everything To Everyone.” The band’s career also includes a Grammy nomination and, most recently, the live album Live at the Whisky a Go Go (2023) and a vinyl reissue of Songs From An American Movie Vol. One (2024).

In addition to his work with the band, Alexakis released a solo album, Sun Songs, in 2019. That same year he revealed his diagnosis with multiple sclerosis and has since pledged a portion of ticket sales from every show to charities such as Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and the National MS Society.

Everclear’s early years began with their 1993 independent debut World of Noise. A remastered deluxe edition of the album was released digitally in 2022 with six additional tracks. That same year, the band also released a retrospective film Everclear – 30 Years Gone, hosted by longtime friend Matt Pinfield.
