Stewart Copeland, the legendary drummer best known for powering The Police, will return to Australia and New Zealand in 2026 for the first time in nearly two decades. He brings his spoken-word and storytelling show Have I Said Too Much? The Police, Hollywood, And Other Adventures following a string of sold-out UK dates.

“Demand for this intimate new show has surpassed my expectations, and I can’t wait to return to Australia & New Zealand next year and share the stories of my life with even more fans.”

A pioneering force in contemporary music for more than four decades, Copeland has seamlessly bridged rock, classical, opera and world music. A seven-time Grammy winner, he is best known as the founder of The Police, whose innovative sound defined a generation of rock in the 1980s. His drumming propelled the band to global dominance from 1977–1986, with a reunion tour in 2007–2008 further cementing their place in music history.

Beyond rock, Copeland has carved out an extensive career in classical and operatic composition. Works such as Tyrant’s Crush (Pittsburgh Symphony), Poltroons in Paradise (Royal Liverpool Philharmonic), and Gamelan D’Drum (Dallas Symphony) showcase his reach, while his operas include adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado and The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Witches Seed, which premiered in Italy in 2022 and returned for three new productions in 2024.

His 2025 schedule includes the launch of Wild Concerto in collaboration with Martyn Stewart and Platoon (Apple Inc.), premiering on Earth Day at King’s Place, London, and a percussion commission debuting with The Juilliard School in New York and at the Aspen Festival.

Copeland’s film and television scores include Rumble Fish (Golden Globe-nominated), Wall Street, Four Days in September (Oscar-nominated), and work on The Equalizer, Babylon 5, Desperate Housewives, and the Spyro the Dragonvideo game series. His work extends to BBC documentaries and the podcast My Dad The Spy. Accolades include his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, a knighthood from France’s Order of Arts and Letters, and the 2024 Meadows Award for Artistry of International Renown.

Each show on the tour will be hosted by Perth broadcaster Sarah Tout, a seasoned interviewer and musician in her own right. Known for her curiosity, wit and insight, Tout brings decades of experience interviewing artists on radio and stage, making her a fitting guide for Copeland’s expansive story.
