In a musical landscape defined by boundaries and genres, three-piece band STREAMER boldly steps into uncharted territory with their latest single, ‘Possessify,’ introducing a genre they proudly call ‘indie trance.’ Comprised of Tom on vocals, guitars, and keys, Jez on bass and keys, and Tom’s son Freddie on drums and percussion, STREAMER is rewriting the rulebook with their eclectic blend of layered vocals, gripping guitar hooks, and trance electronica.

‘Possessify’ is more than just a song; it’s a rallying cry for creative souls caught in the relentless grind of daily life, urging them to break free from the shackles of monotony and reclaim their passion. Inspired by Tom’s daughter’s innocent question about why people become so consumed by their work, the track delves into the personal experiences and observations of the band members, delivering heartfelt lyrics wrapped in a sonic landscape that defies categorization.

The song’s composition is a testament to STREAMER’s musical prowess, blending traditional trance rhythms with live instrumentation to create a dramatic and dynamic soundscape. With a tempo set at 138 bpm, the track pulsates with energy, driven by Tom’s searing guitar riffs and Freddie’s precision drumming. Jez’s bass lines add depth and groove, while the haunting piano melodies and textured rap vocals enhance the song’s emotional depth.

Behind the scenes, STREAMER crafted ‘Possessify’ in their Kent studio near Faversham, pouring their creative energy into every aspect of the production process. From the initial songwriting sessions to the final mastering in Germany, the band spared no effort in ensuring that every note and lyric resonated with authenticity and passion.

Instrumentally, Tom relies on a Paul Reed Smith (PRS) Custom 24 and a Custom Fender Stratocaster guitar, paired with a Line 6 Helix for effects and amplification. Jez’s arsenal includes a Warwick Infinity bass guitar and a Line 6 Helix, while Freddie utilizes Roland’s e-drums to deliver electrifying rhythms and beats. In the studio, Ableton serves as the canvas for their sonic experiments, with a variety of plug-ins and MIDI instruments adding depth and texture to their compositions.

Reflecting on the release, STREAMER emphasizes the importance of courage and conviction in the face of adversity, urging listeners to resist the temptation of conformity and embrace their creative freedom. With ‘Possessify,’ STREAMER not only delivers a captivating musical experience but also sparks a conversation about the inherent value of artistic expression in today’s fast-paced world.

As they continue to push the boundaries of music and defy expectations, STREAMER stands poised to leave an indelible mark on the industry, proving that innovation knows no limits when it comes to the power of sound and imagination.
