Track: Sister Envy Share Floating New Single ‘Tide’

Welsh four piece Sister Envy share the atmospheric, dark yet beautiful and emotive new single ‘Tide’.

Sitting somewhere between grunge and shoegaze, Tide’s beautiful guitar melodies and melodic vocals carry the track through the verse before the track reaches an overbearing, distorted chorus. Offering some gorgeous guitar tones over its punching drums and grounding bass, the emotive, nasal and yet brilliantly clear and effortlessly controlled lead vocals give the track a compelling central pin for the musicality to move around.

Comparable in parts to Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, while at other moments showcasing thoughtful, reverb and delay soaked riffs comparable to Slowdive and even at times The Verve and ‘The Bends’ era Radiohead, the track is a vibrant example of the bands effortlessly cool sonic identity. The track has all the hallmarks of a band about to break through.

Vocalist and guitarist, Kameron Jolliffe says: “Tide is the first song we recorded together as a band, I wrote it whilst severely hungover one sunny afternoon, it was one of those days where the moon was visible.. I wrote it about someone i used to see, a toxic relationship that still pulls you in just to inevitably throw you back. “
