We are overjoyed to premiere the atmospheric new single ‘Remnants’ from Boorloo/Perth singer/songwriter Tanaya Harper, of the band Bells Rapid. Underpinned by sweeping strings and tinkling piano, the song rests on Harper’s exquisitely delicate vocals that ache with emotion. The song is about the need to love yourself as a precursor to happiness:

Never believed I could trust, Never thought that I’d be loved, Never thought this could be real for me

Harper says of the track:

Remnants was written during a songwriting retreat with Producer, Anna Laverty. I woke early in
the morning to a quiet chalet, sat at the piano and started writing. The song is a meditation on
how abandonment issues often negatively impact the ability for healthy relationships to flourish.
Feeling genuine love and respect for the self is imperative for healthy relationship dynamics to
develop, so Remnants is my ode to this learning chapter.

The result is something hauntingly beautiful that seemingly floats in the sky without earthly restraints: an ethereal paean to resilience and inner strength that unfolds with a majestic and stately presence:

‘Remnants’ is out Thursday 23 November via MGM and you can pre-save it here.

You can catch Harper live on the following date:
