Premiere: Edinburgh producer Rufus releases the serene beauty of ‘Settle’

Edinburgh seems to be a hub of a lot of creative talent at the moment, and the latest off the production line is artist-producer Rufus, aka Ben Lobban. After playing in covers bands following his graduation from Napier with a degree in Popular Music, he’s turned his attention to creating his own music. Out tomorrow is his latest single, the introspective instrumental ‘Settle’, which we’re delighted to premiere right here on Backseat Mafia.

Settle is this rather gorgeous slice of electronica, these little fragmented synth lines, some playful and others soaked in melancholy, weave and dance in and out of eachother over scattered percussive beats, as Rufus shows his hand at allowing the music to slowly morph and develop, it’s charm at the beginning almost making its way onto the dancefloor by the end. Almost.

Funky, free, and gorgeous, Settle will do just that, in your mind and heart.
