PREMIERE: Karaboudjan shares the powerful ‘Falling Forwards’, preps debut EP for September

Karaboudjan

He’s been part of a number of bands including the live setup for Tycho, but Billy Kim has only recently started to embark on a musical venture of his own. Back in March, the artist also known as Karaboudjan (yes, that is a The Adventures of Tintin reference) released his debut single ‘Seems Like’, and two further previews of his forthcoming debut EP have followed in the interim, but his new single is arguably his most powerful statement yet. It’s out tomorrow, but we’ve got your first listen.

Bursting into life straight away with massive drums and a widescreen, immediate psychedelic sound that’s perfect for this time of year, ‘Falling Forwards’ is a delightful burst of energy that’s sharply contrasted by Kim’s frustration at the creative process behind the Karaboudjan project itself: “I’ve played in countless bands, but have never released my own music. It’s about being better late than never, and even then you’re not truly certain if that’s the right decision.” He’s definitely on to something. Tune in below; that debut EP is called IMAGO and follows in September.
