We are delighted to premiere the video for the new single ‘We Just Want To Be Loved’ by North East based singer songwriter Kate Bond. Written post Sarah Everard, ‘We Just Want To Be Loved’, is a song all about impunity in cases of violence against women. The powerful feminism centred lyrics and ideology is what Bond wants her forthcoming EP to have a big focus on.
Speaking about ‘We Just Want To Be Loved’, Kate says:
“This song is really important for me and is probably the most personal song I’ve ever written. It
came from a place of anger but has turned into something really beautiful and special to me.
Hopefully, my message will resonate and hopefully spark even the smallest change in people’s attitudes towards women’s issues.”
A smooth piano led R&B track that rolls along under Bond’s caramel vocals. A blast of horns and Bond’s soaring vocal on the chorus cut through the hypnotic vocal delivery of the verses.
