Kiev born, now Colorado based singer-songwriter Marina (not to be confused with her namesake of Marina and Diamonds) is back with her new single ‘Why’ and we’re excited to be running the premiere!
Moving away from the R&B-pop sound of her previous releases, ‘Why’ see’s Marina lean towards her love of pop music with layers of distorted guitar and piano over a backbone of thumping drums and driving bass. Keeping an element of her earlier material present, the subtle layers of synths and poppy production and Marina’s infectiously catchy, intensely punchy vocal delivery keep the track grounded within the pop world allowing Marina to not move too far away from her previous sound.
‘Why’ is a step into an exciting new musical direction from a pop artist with a lot of potential.
