Glasgow via Manchester singer-songwriter Nikitta has given us access to an acoustic version of her track Dance in the Night, that we’re delighted to premiere right here on Backseat Mafia this afternoon. Supporting Ms Dynamite at 16, Nikitta was singing on the X-Factor tour at 17, and has since written with Emeli Sande and toured with Leona Lewis.

Of the track, she says “Dance in the night’ was the first song to make me feel that fire I had been missing for a couple years. I love this song for making me feel alive again and letting me get to that artistic place that I was missing for so long. Now i’m ready for the world to hear my music!”

This acoustic version is stripped of it’s pop sheen, it stands up due to the quality of the song, which is this understated little pop gem. The guitar all the way through seems to draw the emotion out of the track, but it’s really made with Nikitta’s soulful vocal, which ties you up and pulls you along with it.
