Premiere: Red Sun Radio release new single ‘I wanna get high’

New York City blues rockers Red Sun Radio are gearing up for tomorrows release of their new single ‘I wanna get high’, and we’re delighted to be able to give you a sneak preview of it right here on Backseat Mafia.

Of the track, the band told us exclusively “This song is about love and addiction, and the similarities between the two. I guess I have a bit of an addictive personality, so when I wrote this I was thinking about the way a relationship can be just as habit forming as a drug. But I wanted it to sound beautiful and soft and warm- like drugs before the come down, or a relationship before things go south.”

There’s a deep warmth about the record, rooted in indie folk and with the sort of melodies and chorus’ most bands would kill for, it’s allows die the sweetness and melancholy to rise to the surface in equal measure. Underneath, there’s these little innocent synth lines and harmonies that weave in and out of the vocal, which in turn has a fragility about them that makes your heart burst.
