It’s been a while but the magnificent Fabels are back with ‘Fury’ which we are honoured to premiere here today. Fabels are Hiske Weijers from Berlin and Ben Aylward from Sydney and they are magicians of the highest order when it comes to dreamy, hazy psychedelic pop.
‘Fury’ has that unique Fabels sound – a dream pop/shoegaze electronic kaleidoscope that is inflected with a shimmering psychedelia. Layers and layers of sound filter through the speakers with the dual vocals gliding just under the surface, enigmatic and mysterious.
It’s an epic soundscape that reverberates through the brain, creating a sonic whirlpool that has a frosty billowing resonance like rainbow ribbons flying through the monochrome Antarctic landscapes. Fabels, as always, capture a sort of chemically-induced fugue in their music: it’s transformative and ambulant.
The track was produced by Tim ‘Timebandit Powles’ from The Church, who also is a member of the band playing drums, electronics and percussion.
