Say Psych: News: Brian Jonestown Massacre announce two new albums and share track ‘Hold That Thought’

Brian Jonestown Massacre will release the two new albums in 2018; the first of which, Something Else, has been scheduled for release on A Recordings on 1st June, on 180grm white vinyl and digital download. The album was recorded and produced at Anton Newcombe’s Cobra Studio in Berlin. The second album of 2018 which is self-titled is lined up for September, with more details to follow in due course.

Something Else will be the 17th full length BJM release, the style of which is less experimental than their recent records and refers back to the traditional sound of the band that fans grew to love. Recorded between 2017 and 2018, this 9-track album will please old and new fans alike.

First single ‘Hold That Thought’ has been released by the band as a preview of the album. The track starts heavy hitting, with a strong drum patterning dominating layered guitar and a haunting keys melody. Anton’s characteristic vocal style takes hold early on with thought evoking lyrics that are sure to strike a chord. The track gives just enough away to keep people interested, but not enough to leave the listener sated.
