‘Hide from the world’ by Oslo based Icelandic alt-pop act Gunnar the Fifth, aka world famous tattooist Gunnar Valdimarsson. Taken from the debut EP, out later in the spring, Gunnar says of the track, “[it was] Originally written about wanting to hide from the world due to a break up and other personal issues. Now ever more relevant due to the recent Covid-19 outbreak”.
It’s darkly beautiful, dressed with haunting piano and organ, alongside Gunnar’s warm and understated vocals. He’s also hit upon a melody that’s soaked in the melancholy he’s singing about, but catchy enough to have you coming back for more.
