You can learn a lot about Lauren Aquilina from her Twitter bio: “nothing makes me happier than writing sad songs.” She’s continuing that trend with new song ‘Ocean’, which is her latest single and the title of her forthcoming EP. Lauren has had an incredible start to her music career, headlining the BBC introducing stage at Reading & Leeds Festivals in 2013 and releasing her first three EPs: Fools, Liars, and Sinners. She even supported Taylor Swift at Hyde Park earlier this year, per the headliners request.
Lauren is showing no signs of slowing down as she plans to release her new EP Ocean this Autumn and suport it with a tour across the UK.
Ocean‘s title track is accompanied with its own music video, showing Lauren sitting alone, drowning in melancholy. There are clouds in the mirrors and waves on the floor; water is pouring across the table and all we can do is stare. It’s a beautiful song and the video has captured its reflective tones, urging us to slow down and allow ourselves to breathe.
Lauren will be touring the UK to support Ocean EP, visiting Manchester, Nottingham, and London’s Bush Hall. Tickets are available now.
