See: Pink Milk release video for “I want to know what love is”

It shouldn’t be good should it? A cover of Foreigners MOR classic I want to know what love is, by Gothenburg shoegazers Pink Milk. The duo, singer/drummer Maria and Guitarist Edward have taken the influences they grew up with – Jesus and Mary Chain, Cocteau Twins and Cranes, and have moulded the song into something recognisable but different.

Slowed down and shrouded in gloom, its now this messy, languid celebration of the power and problems of love. Its covered in these shivering guitars and shimmering synths, as Marias vocal is haunting and, more importantly, beautiful. I feared for Pink Milk, tackling something so familiar, but you know I think I might like it a whole lot more than the original.
