It’s been 25 years since Nightmares On Wax released the essential “Smoker’s Delight” album, and so this year, there will be a shiny new release. Featuring not only coloured vinyl, but also four new tracks. A remix, a live version, but also two originals. One of which is revealed to be Aquaself :
The new track is very much a conscious decision to try and echo the original sound, complete with blunted and stuttering beats and fuzzy jazz samples. It may be more polished, and complex (as you would expect from 25 years later), but it still stands alongside the mood of originals, which is no mean feat for this genuine classic album.
The re-release of Smokers Delight is out on Warp on April 3rd on coloured vinyl and download.
