See: Stephen “Ragga” Marley released video for Rock Stone

Although of course always overshadowed by his father Bob, it shouldn’t be forgotten that son Stephen “Ragga” Marley is an artist of some repute in his own right. Indeed, he is an eight time grammy winner, his last one coming for 2011 album Revelation Pt.1 – The Root of Life (Best Reggae Album in 2012.) The follow-up to that Revelation Pt.2 – The Fruit of Life is out now, and from it comes Rock Stone which features both Capleton and Sizzla.

It’s a heavy vibe that kicks in from the start, the warm reggae vibes  made smoother by Marleys vocal hook. Immediately though, it becomes more of a stripped back dub, as both Sizzla and Capleton take turns with the vocals, more abrasive than Marley, but its calling of the highest order. The accompaniment suddenly changes, away from the dubby bass and brass interjections to this almost dubstep buzz., before reverting back to its origins to finish.
Check out the three of them in action in the official video.
