Creating a dream soundscape of etherial elements yet retaining a driving sense of energy and purpose, Celestial North sculpts an intoxicating sense of wonder on her new single ‘Olympic Skies’, the latest single to be taken from her new album ‘Otherworld’.
Built around a sea of piano, airy synths, gently strummed acoustics and grounding bass, the tracks distant yet driving drums pull the track forward under the silky, glowing lead vocal. As comparable to Mazzy Star as it is to the likes of Katy J Pearson, ‘Olympic Skies’ perfectly blends it’s musical depth with it’s ear-worm vocal lines to great effect.
Talking about the track, Celestial North describes the single as “a breakup song between the land and modern man”.
Having already gained a whole host of tastemaker support across the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music and Prog Magazine, Celestial North has reinforced her status as one to watch with the release of the new album ‘Otherworld’.
