Ahead of their myriad festival appearances this summer, London duo Ferris and Sylvester have officially released their live cover of Waterloo Sunset following its reception on BBC Radio 2 :

It’s an effective duet, drifting in with a gentle opening, contrasting with more robust driving rhythm as it picks up pace throughout, almost an opposite to the meandering structure of the original.  It’s a track that has aged incredibly well, in fact, it’s possibly more representative of London now.  The band say “We chose this song because we think it absolutely encapsulates what it means to be young, lost and living in London“.  So, you can think of this track in the summer, when there are millions of people swarming like flies around Waterloo Underground, and you need a little paradise…

Go and see them this summer, and expect this to be the big crowd singalong moment at :

8th June : Live at the Apple Store, London Regent Street
9th June : Streatham Space Project Opening
16th June : Live at Chelsea with James Blunt
17th June : Nocturne at Blenhem Palace
21st June : Air BnB Experience, Ziferblat, Shoreditch
7th July : Sliverstone Woodlands
15th July : Cornbury Festival
3rd August : Neverworld presents Leefest
4th August  : Wilderness Festival with BBC Introducing
5th August : Cambridge Folk Festival
18th August : Blackpit Brewery Beer Festival
9th September : The Long Road Festival
