Track: Northtale – Midnight Bells

Joao Duarte

Power metallers Northtale have shared another track, ‘Midnight Bells’, taken from their new album Eternal Flame, which is set to be released on November 12th via Nuclear Blast.

Regarding the track Guitarist Bill Hudson states:

“This is one of my favourite songs and one of the heavier ones on the record. Musically, I was able to fuse my influences of thrash, traditional and power metal all into one piece I’m really proud of. Lyrically, Guilherme got to bring some of our Brazilian touch into our music for the first time.”

Singer Guilherme Hirose adds:

“This song is hugely personal, and very special to me. It is about my spiritual beliefs, and it gives me a chance to introduce some of our Brazilian mystical traditions to the world. I hope you can feel the strong mystical energy emanating from Midnight Bells!”

Done in their unique freight train way, Hirose is all metal God over the raging riff work and rampaging drumming. It’s all in the chorus though, as this is where the track really shines with some excellent backing vocals. The band throw in a superb keyboard solo before Hudson is let loose on the fretboard. There is just no getting better than this.
