Track: Teenager Share New Single ‘Love Is You’ Ahead of Fourteen

Teenager’s return continues to take shape with the release of ‘Love Is You’, the third single from their forthcoming album Fourteen, due later this year.

Formed in 2004 by Nick Littlemore (PNAU, Empire of the Sun) and Pip Brown (Ladyhawke), Teenager made their mark with debut album Thirteen in 2006, an ambitious mix of dance rhythms and punk influences recorded across Sydney, London, New York, Paris and Los Angeles. Tracks like ‘Pony’ and ‘Bound and Gagged’ earned cult status, drawing on collaborators from Sonic Youth, Van She, Luke Steele, The Birthday Party and The Presets.

By 2007, both members shifted focus: Brown launched her solo career as Ladyhawke, releasing synth-pop favourites ‘My Delirium’ and ‘Paris Is Burning’, while Littlemore pushed forward with PNAU and later Empire of the Sun, delivering globally recognised tracks such as ‘Walking on a Dream’, ‘We Are the People’ and PNAU’s remix of Elton John and Dua Lipa’s ‘Cold Heart’.

Their paths never fully diverged, and over the years the pair have continued to write and record together whenever possible. Nearly two decades on, that collaboration has surfaced again as Teenager.

‘Love Is You’ follows earlier singles ‘A.A.’ and ‘Sail the Seas’, and leans into a swirl of synths, hypnotic beats and Brown’s vocal delivery. It’s a track that builds on their history but looks firmly ahead, setting the tone for a new chapter as the band lead into the release of Fourteen later this year.
