Track: Therion – Nocturnal Light

Swedish symphonic metal band Therion released their seventeenth studio album ‘Leviathan’ earlier this year to great success. The band have shared the music video for track Nocturnal Light, which is taken from this album.

Therion’s Christofer Johnsson comments:

“This is a very epic song with Middle Eastern influences written by Thomas Vikström. The lyrics deal with the Sumerian goddess Inanna. It was one of his first contributions to the Leviathan writing sessions.”

The gorgeous soprano vocals from Lori Lewis are almost medicinal over the epic choral and orchestra score on this track. The metal elements bleed seamlessly with the orchestral parts that you would think they were made for each other. A nod to the genius of Christofer Johnsson and Thomas Vikström
