Track: TV Priest share video for new track Press Gang

TV Priest will release their album Uppers on February 5th, 2021 via Sub Pop. In the run up the band have shared their new single and official video for track ‘Press Gang’.

‘Press Gang’ is inspired by Charlie’s grandfather’s life’s work as a photojournalist and war correspondent on Fleet Street from the 1950s to the early 1980s. The song is about the shifting role in the dissemination of information and ideas, and how the prevailing narrative that the “Death of Print Media” has contributed to a “post-truth” world.

Down and dirty with a hypnotic drum beat and a bass that drags along the floor. The guitar slaps and crushes filling in the empty space between the doom laden bass and that baritone howl. It’s that howl and vocal performance that makes the track, with Drinkwater sounds urgent and forceful. You can almost forget theres any music underneath. Boys have done good. Very good.
