White Crone aka Lisa Mann has recorded Rainbow’s track ‘Stargazer’ in honour of the memory of Ronnie James Dio and bassist Jimmy Bain. The track features Dio drummer Vinny Appice , Blues Rock guitarist Alastair Greene , keyboardist Eric Lawrence, with Lisa herself on bass & vocals. The single was released on July 9, 2021, a day before Dio’s birthday, and is only available in digital format at www.whitecrone.com or on your favourite streaming platform.
White Crone’s ‘Stargazer’ stays faithful to the original though is longer and more self-indulgent than the original. Mann’s vocals are very close to Dio’s own and the intensity and suspense they bring along with the superb guitar work from Greene is magical. Clocking in at almost nine minutes in length, the impressive guitar solo and the extended outro featuring soaring vocals and duetting guitar and keyboard are a great addition to the original track.
